APPROACH
My approach is integrative, holistic, and empathic. I pull from many different techniques depending on your situation or circumstance. This can include talk therapy, dream work, mindfulness, attachment theory, somatic therapies, and many more. Generally speaking, my primary orientations are psychodynamic (getting to the source of the problem, not merely addressing symptoms), and humanistic (which views the whole person, not just behaviors).
I see the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative experience, and it should feel safe, warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental. It also doesn’t have to be so serious all of the time, and humor is an important coping skill! The most important aspect of my approach is to make you feel seen and cared for, and that you have a strong, consistent ally with you throughout your healing process.
That being said, it can take a few sessions to get to know each other and establish a rapport before getting into some deep, therapeutic work. Healing takes time and courage, but self-awareness and self-love are priceless! Please click on the “Offerings” tab to learn more about my therapeutic orientation.
